Virtual meetings have been gaining popularity in the US in recent years, as they are seen as a tool to build connections and network among people of different backgrounds and racialities.
But now, with the rise of virtual meet-ups like MeetUp, a growing number of people are meeting in real life to discuss social issues, share tips on what to wear, and learn more about each other.
MeetUp is the first social networking platform to accept all forms of identities and backgrounds, and is the only place to meet up with people of all genders and races.
There are currently more than 100,000 MeetUp users in the United States, with more than 1.5 million members worldwide.
“Virtual MeetUp provides an unprecedented platform for people of any ethnic and racial background to meet and network in real time, to share their own stories, and to network in ways that have never been possible before,” said MeetUp founder and CEO Dan Ayoub in a statement.
The service has already seen a spike in growth in recent months.
Its membership has doubled over the past year.
The site was founded in 2011 and was originally called MeetUp.com, but its name was changed in 2016.
Ayoubob says it has helped connect people from different backgrounds to build new connections and meet other like-minded people, and has become a place where people can connect with each other on a more personal level.
He says he believes it has the potential to transform how we interact with one another, especially in a time when social media is a constant reminder of our differences.
“MeetUp has a lot of room for growth,” Ayoubs said.
“As time goes on, it will grow even more.”
MeetUp was launched by Ayoubi himself, who wanted to share his experience on how he and other meet-up enthusiasts have been able to meet in real-world environments in the past.
A youbs experience at MeetUp The first meeting was hosted by a white man.
Meetup members were initially wary of the idea of meeting with strangers in the first place, but after a week of chatting online, the men agreed to meet, Ayouba said.
After the meeting, A youb and his group decided to invite a number of women to meet as well.
Meet up with women from different races and ethnicities has been growing in popularity The first woman to join the group was an African-American woman who had lived in the country for a number to a number years.
A Youbs group was created with the aim of being a space where people from diverse backgrounds can connect, and where they can connect to each other in real space.
