Google’s board of directors is convening in a secret meeting to discuss what’s being called the “emergency” meeting of its chief executives.
Google will hold the meeting at the company’s headquarters in Mountain View, California, on Thursday to review the companys plans for 2017, CEO Sundar Pichai said in a statement.
The company’s CEO has said it is working to “maintain the momentum” for a new conference.
“The key to this is not only keeping the momentum of the conference going, but also making sure that Google is prepared for the next two years and beyond,” he said.
“In that spirit, the board will meet at Google’s headquarters to review our 2017 plans, which will be finalized in the coming days.”
Google announced last month that it was delaying its annual shareholders meeting, which was originally scheduled for this week.
That delay has created uncertainty over whether the meeting will happen at all, and has led some analysts to suggest that the board of search’s executives could be in line for pay raises.
